I’ve always been a lover of Mulberry, so it’s no real surprise that it’s the first store I headed for during a recent trip to Bicester Village.
Ashley and I have been saying for weeks that we want to get a Bicester shopping trip in before Christmas. Yes, you read that right, I said the C word.. in August. But wait, before you judge me let me explain. Being pregnant and evidently growing by the day, shopping trips are becoming more and more of a struggle. I mean I love shopping, but these days I prefer to do it from the comfort of my bed – pyjamas on, cup of tea in hand and a jar of Nutella by my side, you feel me? September and October are busy months for the both of us, and by November I’ll be a whale so that’s a no-go, which leaves August! Merry Christmas lovelies!
When we got to Mulberry, I was in awe of the beautiful selection of bags. As with any designer outlet, it’s hit or miss what stock they’ll have on the day, so I was fully prepared for the fact that I might not find anything I really loved. I tried on a handful of bags including the Lily and of course the classic and timeless Bayswater. Both bags were in the same sort of nude / grey colour, but the Lily had gold hardware whereas the Bayswater had silver hardware. When it comes to handbags I’m more a silver hardware girl, so I instantly fell in love with the Bayswater. The staff in the store were so helpful; the sales assistant let me take the bag outside into the daylight so that I could see the colour away from the artificial store lighting, which only made it look even more stunning. Several ‘try-on’s’ (because it might look different on your right arm – you just don’t know *eye-roll emoji*) and various mirror poses later, I decided that this was “the one”.
For me this purchase isn’t just a fad that I’ll grow out of and will end up pushed to the back of my wardrobe. Mulberry is a brand that I’ve loved for many years. For me it’s quintessentially English and the Bayswater will always remain a classic bag that doesn’t go out of style. I chose the nude / grey colour as it fits perfectly with my wardrobe and pretty much goes with everything. It’s also the perfect size – think of all the baby wipes I’ll be able to carry in this bad boy!?
